    Early years and education

    John Harris began his impressive career after graduating from the prestigious Harvard University in 1999, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Social Sciences. His academic career provided him with a solid foundation for the demanding challenges he would face later in his career.

    First steps in the financial world

    After graduating from university, John entered the world of investment banking by taking a position as an analyst at Goldman Sachs. He spent two valuable years there (1999 to 2001), gaining important insights into the financial industry and laying a strong foundation for his future career. He then moved to Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts & Co. (KKR), where he worked as a private equity analyst from 2001 to 2003.

    The transition to Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb

    In 2003, John Harris joined the Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb team, a decision that marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career. Here, he dedicated himself to the role of analyst and contributed significantly to the success of the funds. His contributions and leadership skills eventually led him to a more prominent role within the firm.

    Johns exceptional expertise and dedication enabled him to rapidly advance at Ruane, Cunniff & Goldfarb. He was appointed Managing Partner of the Wishbone funds, Co-Portfolio Manager of the Poplar private partnerships, and a member of the Sequoia strategys Investment Committee. His leadership role as Managing Partner and his membership on the Management Committee underscore his commitment and influence within the firm.

    Commitment and volunteering

    In addition to his impressive career, John is also involved outside of the workplace. He has served as a board member of Teach For America since January 2007 and as a trustee of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago since January 2016. His involvement with these organizations demonstrates his passion for education and the arts and his desire to create positive change in the community.
