    The turning point in Druckenmillers career came when he joined George Soros Quantum Fund in 1981. There, he quickly became one of the funds key managers and played a key role in implementing the trading strategies that made the Quantum Fund one of the most successful hedge funds of all time. During his time at Soros, Druckenmiller gained a reputation as an extremely talented and risk-averse trader.

    In 1992, Druckenmiller gained international notoriety when he was instrumental in betting against the British pound. The Quantum Fund earned billions when the pound was forced out of the European monetary system, an event known as "Black Wednesday."

    After his time at Soros, Druckenmiller founded his own hedge fund firm, Duquesne Capital Management, in 1993. Under his leadership, Duquesne achieved impressive returns and became one of the most successful hedge funds on the market.
